I am not a Canadian expert by any means but I did recently pick up this 1946 Dollar and noted a fairly substantial doubled ear. As a Morgan Vam collector, I guess you notice these things. Is this common or a known variety? Any help appreciated.

The 1946 does have a variation in waterlines and I believe the HP initials can be doubled

I haven't examined this Type enough to know one way or the other, but I've taught enough students to recognize that classic technique

Agreed. Most of us canucks don't place much value on small varieties such as DDO/DDR, repunched this and thats. Although there is a slow moving trend whichis adding more varieties of various coins into the Charlton guide, and thus onto the radar of coin buyers.
