Shipping ?????

Hey all,

I sold something on ebay last night and am in the process of shipping the item and noticed that the buyer has two addresses. The congratulation your item sold message from ebay had one address and the payment recieved paypal message has a diffrent name and address. So my question is what address do I ship it to? Also is this common with the different names?

Thanks in advance.

Ship to the "confirmed" paypal address only. Anything else you may just be looking for trouble. Don't forget tracking info, and upload to the item on ebay. You should be good to go.

Don't listen to these guys - ask the buyer first!

It could be an honest mistake (and 99.999999999% of the time it is). I once bought a $300+ card and paypal mistakenly gave the seller an old address. He never contacted me and sent it to the wrong place. After a couple weeks I realized the problem and called the current residents - they denied ever seeing it even though the DC showed it delivered.. I never got the card.

If you care about the transaction, just ask.

  • Ok, do this.

Ask the buyer what address they prefer and for him to update it in paypal BEFORE you send it off. That way you cover yourself.

This is how you keep your seller protection.

It really is amazing how such a simple problem that can be resolved with little to no effort can turn into something that is costly to the buyer or seller.
