That is one hell of a set, WOW!!!!!! I sure hope the owner of that lets us at least talk to him (her) and at least share a story or two about that incredible set....
It was fun while it lasted, living in hopes of getting back into top 5, but that was shot down today.....lol, I will settle with remaining on the page somewhere, as long as We (Merc collectors) remain in the forum. The forum is only as good as the people in it, and We merc people, seem to be the finest on the net!!!!
Nice addition you did as well...congrats...

They Say in a Couple of Weeks for the Weights. Right now if You take a 1916D and a 1944P in the Same Grade they have the Same Value within your Set. When the Weighting comes out the 16D will have a Value,Just a Guess Here, of about 10 times of the 44P. PCGS will Still Put a Premium on Set Completeness but if You have 2 Sets with the Same Amount of Coins and the Same Grades but one Had the 16D and the Other had a 44P the Set with the 16D would be Rated Higher.
Did I Confuse the Hell out of You ?? I Did Myself.
As you are probably already aware, there seem to be some shortfallings with weighting the sets. First, there are always disagreements over the weights. Second, they make calculating the effect of adding a coin to your set more complicated.
Now, as a personal matter, fpor the first issue, I don't really care what the weights are because my goal is simply a nice set of Mercury dimes. And as for the second, I don't truly care too much about the effect of adding a coin. All I know is that I hate everyone ahead of me and want them all behind me!!!!!!

This is TWO ROTFLMAO's within the Last 10 Minutes.
Wow, What a set!!! Congrats to whom ever
2labmom,
Basically, the heaviest weighted coins are the ones you lose the most weight to obtain!
As usual, Mark supplied my thoughts before and better than I could! He and his set is always at least a step ahead of me! He also must have the most "ROFLMAO"s!
Congrats to all on all the updates.
Geeze, #3 though #9 all in the red. How's someone in the teens ever hope to crack the top ten?!?

PCGS seems to really be on the ball today. I got 2 new coins in the mail today and added them to my set about an hour ago, if that. They are already showing up in my set. I can't believe it.
Which leads me to another question. My set, with grade points of 56.29, is higher up in the list than a set with 66.00 or 67.00 grade points. Why is that?
