Shipping to Canada - Help Please

In all my auctions I say shipping to USA only. Well, a guy just wins an auction for $30.00 (it's a signed letter) and he is from Canada. OBVIOUSLY I can't ship it for my stated shipping of $2.99. I always have D/C on everything I send out. Seems the only way to do this would be to send Priority Mail. There is a Flat Rate Envelope which would cost about $20.00. However, eBay and Paypal are going to take their fee out of the shipping, so I have to add a few more bucks onto the $20.00.

Am I correct? All help is appreciated.

Arturo, Unless it recently changed Priority International does not come with tracking. You could probably send it registered but that's still not Paypal compliant. For a $30 item I would just send it uninsured untracked airmail for a few bucks... if his Feedback checks out as a good buyer. Sending with compliant Paypal requirements (Int Express) will cost $30-40. Do you have International bidders blocked? If so he shouldn't have been able to bid unless he also has a US shipping address. You could always fight it but would probably be more of a hassle.

you can have international bidders blocked on your ebay seller preferences.

email buyer and explain shipping will be more since it is more. Unfortunately unless u go the higher cost rout of registered u will not have sellers protection.

I have had no problem shipping to canada. If he has good feedbsack and responds well to your email you might just consider shipping.
But costs to canada recently went up..so go to usps website and calculate postage

Buyers in canada usually know whats up

When I went to the USPS site, it seems as though they have "Electronic USPS Delivery Confirmation International" only if you buy the postage online.

Thanks for all the info guys. I will wait to see the buyers response to the $20.00+ shipping cost. He does have 100% FB as a buyer ... maybe I'll just go the $9.00 1st class mail route if he has a problem with the postage.
