I noticed those too, LOL. I like the 79-80 racks with the chance for a Gretzky. image

That rack is perfect for the Canadians fan in your life!!!

Actually, this guy is not as bad as the typical Xmas rack seller, as he comes right out and says that he fabricates these racks himself.

Yeah, but some idiot will have him make up packs and then try to sell them off as real. image

  • looks like no one is touching them. he would do better selling them raw.

I think these look really nice. Clearly it is no different than buying a lot of 15 cards, but the display value is there for a novelty item. Likely they wont sell for the prices he has them, but for the price the raw cards would sell for plus a few bucks I might buy one that is of interest to me. Maybe a 1980 phillies rack with Rose, Schmidt and Carlton on top at $10 or something. It could even be the team set with a header customized for it.

He was selling those on ebay probably 10 years ago. I don't recall huge interest in them at the time either but they are a niche market for sure, same as reproduction display boxes or wrapper copies for folks that can't afford or find the real thing. No intent to deceive as they are obviously for display purposes. Pretty cool way to display cards actually, particularly with the themed approached. I'd consider getting a 71' opc hockey done as I had been looking for years myself for a real Topps rack which would set me back a grand or more but they just aren't available.
