Both of those words came up in my head, in exactly that order. With the same question mark after "baked?", because I don't know for sure. Could be album toning, but also looks like there could have been some heat involved.

Just a question-If it was baked why wouldn't the color change be on both sides of the coin?

I'm not sure it was baked. I'm thinking it was sitting in an album or something that made the obverse tone.

I'm not sure how the toning was created but IMO definitely not natural.

I guess you're right. Natural toning would form differently on the fields vs the legend/devices due to difference in metal hardness.

I'm leaning towards NT on that one. Odd that it is so consistent in color and shape all the way around, but it could be from residing in a sulphur containing holder for years.
