Football Price Guides?

What's the best guide for pricing cards? Becket Price Guide or SMR?
Are these guides based off of Raw or Graded Cards?

I go to my local card shop and that guy uses the Beckett Guide to price the cards I'm interested in buying! He tells me that guide is a must have for pricing cards! But I like to buy or have graded cards so I use the PSA Price Guide.

So I have a 1958 Topps Jim Brown # 62 graded PSA 3. SMR guide only goes to a PSA 5 price $ 215. In the Beckett Football guide low price is $350! So what guide do I use to price the current value of my cards?

I believe VCP is a much more accurate "guide" than SMR. VCP bases their numbers from sales on ebay and various auction houses. It is updated on a daily basis.

check it out ... it's a very good guide ... many people use it.

Edited to add: The above is for GRADED cards.

For instance, here are the sales from the past year from VCP for your Jim Brown Rookie in "PSA 3:

The Beckett low price is their opinion of how much the card could go for in raw, near mint to mint condition.
