    ya 1915 reprint

    for those that dont know

the 1914s (E145-1) will say '144 Pictures' on back, and the cards back is normal (as opposed to upside down)

the 1915s (E145-2) will say '176 Pictures' on back, and all the authentic cards will have a back that is printed upside down (top edge of front is same edge as bottom of back)
most if not all of the reprints dont have this upside down back

also the authentic cards are made from a thin brittle rough surfaced paper, not smooth not glossy or waxy... on the light parts of the image they used the natural paper color instead of ink often, so on this Fisher card where his leg meets the border it should blend, and not have a line like the reprint you posted.

  • Great response FKW. I am always second guessing myself when it comes to thoughts of conterfits and replys like the one you gave are awesome. Multiple things to check for and good examples. image
