A Spanish Monarch Set

I thought it was about time that I learn a bit about the Spanish antecedents of this country. Here are some portraits to parallel Pokermandude's contribution.

I like them! Thanks for posting.

I've at times contemplated getting into medals like those. Very nice portraits at a fraction of the cost of similar condition circulation coins.

Now this is a neat idea. Too bad our education (at least where I was brought up) is so heavily biased in favor of the English colonial past and so skimpy on the Spanish.

That Isabella II, while a nice medal, has a rather unflattering portrait. She looks a little like one of Cinderella's stepsisters, there. Then again, for all we know, she might not have been much of a beauty in life, eh?

    Great portraits !
Really cool to get a different look on a few familiar faces...and now I know that Napoleon was one of the first to rock the Justin Bieber hair-do image

Great to see a not-English monarch set! image

For LM, I noticed this pattern now up at Heritage that looks remarkably like Vicky (to me at least):

Probably the most flattering physical appearance was portrayed by Anna Paquin in the 1997 movie, "Amistad." Of course, she was a 15 year old in that portrayal.

Probably the best representation of this scoundrel that I have seen on coin or medal. I am sure that there are better, though.
