Sick indeed. A lot of 80s pop culture toys/entertainment/etc. goes for big money anymore, especially anything that is unopened. Great memories with Garbage Pail Kids.
Looks like there is some serious demand for these. If you have them and no emotional connection, it might be a good time to let them go for these kind of prices.
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.
I love GPKs!!!!!!!! They are my "Gateway Cards". I see them and I am instanly taken back to the mid 80's, biking from 7-11 to Circle-ks all over Phoenix. I remeber when they first hit my Dad drove me all over Az looking for series one packs. They were sold out everywhhere.
I should probably ask my dad if he knows where all of mine are. I had a bunch of em (and hopefully still do). Though I know they are not in the greatest condition, I have most of the first two sets and and series 3-5 or 6 complete.
MattyC I was hit by the same bug. I purchased some raw singles from eBay. Was able to get a few Adam Bomb's and Blasted Billy's (1a and 1b) along with a bunch of other 1st-6th singles. I sent in the Bombs/Billys know they wouldn't get anything higher than 7s. They were part of my first sub, jumped onto Neil/Dutymon's group Sub. Most of that sub are sentimental subs just to get cased. I was lucky enough to score some unopened packs from BBCE, two of each 1st-6th series. But this is my GPK pride and joy...Thanx again to Steve Hart and BBCE.
