Is combining vintage with modern a mistake?

I threw in a few '74s with my modern order on my collectors club renewal submission. I got what I expected on the 74s but felt like I got shorted on the modern grade wise.
I seem to remember there being graders for vintage and graders for modern; did I hose myself by having my order mixed, and maybe getting a grader not as familiar with modern?

I'm wondering if they might have gotten graded harder than normal if they wound up with a vintage grader. Or maybe I just screwed up, but damn they were perfect, centered, and scratch free.
Either way I'm going to have to resub those three.
<< <i>I got the grades. The modern I was 6/12 for 10s. . >>
Wow between you and eagleyes...........6 for 10, I'd almost think about quitting while your ahead!!!!

There can be a lot more to surface grading on chromes than scratches. Any pits? Throw up a few pics and we can take a look, like you said might just be worth submitting, buy can't hurt to get others opinions. Congrats on the 6/12 modern.
<< <i>Sounds like it worked - you got what you wanted for the vintage.
I hope I didn't come off as a snot, I've been submitting vintage for awhile so those three coming back 'correctly' isn't as much as a surprise as it probably should be knowing PSA. Modern is new to me though.
Now they got you right where they want you. re-subbing they cards.
