A funny thing happened on the way to Paypal today.

For the last couple of years Paypal has been asking for my Social Security number
in case they need to send me a 1099 for sales over $20,000 with over 200 sales.

I always go over 200 sales but never near $20,000 sales so I gently have been avoiding
complying with their request.

This afternoon I receive my new Paypal Debit card in the mail and need to activate it.

So I head over to www.paypal.com/us/dc-activate to activate my new card.

The first line on the form is where you have to enter your Social Security number.

Ebay says GOTCHA !!! image

Ha Ha, so if I want to continue using my Paypal debit card I will have to comply.

Anyone else use Paypal debit card? Not sure if I will any more. image

  • I got a new card in the mail a few months ago and forgot about it. I realized my "current" card was expired. I called paypal they walked me through it on my phone. Never asking me for my SSN.

    maybe its the sales amounts.

I hit the threshold the last 2 years since its inception, the last thing I would Frickin' do is use anything without the Vaselione/Condundum that says Paypal.............So the answer to do your "Do You Use a Paypal anything", would be, Without question...Are you Kidding Me ???image

I will call them when I get in the right mood.
I have to be in special frame of mind when I call them.

  • I use a PayPal card. I decided it was easier than having to transfer money to my account and having to wait 3-4 days each time. Its a nice alternative cash flow. Never had a problem with it.

You're not alone. I'm with him until the first comma. As far as I can tell, after that it's pure frontier gibberish.

I'm surprised they issued you one without a social security number in the first place. Do you not have a line of credit attached to it?
