Coin

This coin makes me feel all warm and fuzzy, which is what I need right now. Our furnace broke last night and the temp right now is hovering around freezing with a wind chill in the low 20s. Dang, it's cold in here.

The coin is a fantastic two sided toned BC, from the hundreds (71,72 and 73) that you must have handled, (i must have gotten 7-8 from you at least), but it's not making Kelly warm and fuzzy, so I'm wondering: don't you have any other alternatives for heating (even one or two rooms), when such a thing happens? ( electric radiators, fireplace, etc)

checked the circuit breakers?? Gas or oil turned off??? or out of oil??
pushed the re-set button on the furnace? ( there is one)
if all above fails, there is this: a small apppliance called : portable heater?
one needs to get in the car and drive to a store and fork over some dough, not a lot, $ 20 most likely will do.
then you take that appliance home and unpack it. then you plug it into an electrical wall outlet, turn the knob up and voila,,,, warm air starts to come out of the little appliance..
this warm air can give you a cozy, warm and fuzzy feeling after a while..
good luck, hope it works soon,...

I hope you (and your pipes) are keeping warm.
Now onto the coin... it is very pleasing. It is nicely colored both obv and rev, and has surfaces/strike to match the color appeal. It's a beauty!

Don't let one young-un with nothing better to do then cut your OP or keep you from posting here.
I grew up in Evergreen, Colo. @ 6000+' elevation. Winters were 6-10 feet of snow. digging out the 4X4, chaining up to go to town.
Fireplace was 24/7 most days. I feel for you and very nice coin!
<< <i>That coin was bought at the last ANA show in Pittsburgh. Well my coin buying needs to be cut back. The furnace, YQQ you can stop reading here, is up and running but needs to be replaced. It is 15 years old and not of the highest quality to begin with. It was here when we bought the house. >>
I sold my grandmother's house back in 2007 - it was heated by a boiler in the basement and radiators in the floor boards upstairs. It was an expensive heat because of the cost of the natural gas - but aside from regulators and pressure valves the boiler was all original to the house that was built in 1957. These furnaces that are built these days are meant to last 10-12 years at max. Most people don't live in the house that long anyway so the manufacturers build them cheap so they can be replaced often.
Seriously though, what up YQQ???? Don is showing us a nice picture and Dimitri is asking a reasonable question (he lives a lot closer to me than Don after all).

edited to add: the house we had in Maryland was built in 1954 and had the original heating system. It was tough to find someone to do work on it and IIRC getting some parts for it was a real bear, but it still worked.
I have had to deal with furnaces all season long. I am not accustomed to the radiator heating so it has been a pain. Does your thermostat have batteries? I know many times that with these new programmable thermostats the heater will not work if the battery is low. Just a suggestion. Good luck with it. -Dan

just meant to make fun of it, as I thought you posted it as fun read. Not wanted to be nasty in any way.
just wanted to spin it a bit in a humorous and funny way.
if you read my post again, you might perhaps see the humor in it and that it was not meant any other way.
Obviously my post came across the wrong way and I am sincerely sorry.
I ask you all to please accept my apology.
I did not mean to be nasty.
It is really difficult to defend myself. I am not even trying. I now feel like a piece of "you know what".
However, I am surprised how a few of you reacted. And were probably also not thinking that just perhaps I meant no harm.
Sure makes me think now.
I made an innocent honest mistake which i did not think it was a mistake when I wrote it.
And, there are obviously 2 sides to this story. I happen to go with the the Furnace story and not with the coin side.
Anyway, I get the message.
No fun allowed. It might be misinterpreted and could back fire.
Sorry guys and Girls.

There was nothing in your original post that was even remotely humorous, IMO, just some snarky remarks seemingly aimed to insult the originator of this thread.
YMMV

Yes.
(Answered your minimalist title with a minimalist reply. LOL. Nice coin. Better even than a hot cuppa cocoa or something. Stay warm. I'll go out and hug a palm tree for you, next time I step outside to NOT smoke. Today is uhh... Day 20 of that.)
The coin is spectacular. Thanks for sharing.

That's actually the default 'Shroom icon from the old days. His groovier, more psychedelic one was a much more recent addition. I didn't even notice. Occasionally Shroomie will really get a wild hair and put on one of the old school female avatar pictures, just to mess with your head.
Just humor him.
I used to play online poker under my Hebrew name, hershel. One guy thought I was a woman. I didn't correct him and made a nice profit. It's funny how some people bet differently against women.
