Sellers Remorse...

You wont find it here however. lol

I've been wanting a Mantle for some time now. I did purchase a 64 in PSA 8 back in 2011 but it was OC when I wasn't familiar with qualifiers. That was back when I started collecting again. I eventually sold that one off last year and took a big hit too from the sale price because I didn't know any better when purchasing.

So I've been wanting another one and I got the most affordable Mantle I could find in a PSA 8. His 1968 card. Ive been looking at these for a few months now and this one has pretty awesome centering and so I just had to have it I thought. Got it last week and I absolutely love it. Very happy I can say I own a Mantle card now.

Awesome looking card! I once owned one of those '68 Mantles. It looked pack fresh when I bought it at a show for $5 in 1981 when I was 14 years old. I sold it a year later for $14. Talk about sellers remorse.....but a $9 profit on a card back then for a 15 year old was a big deal.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • Thanks fellas. I cant imagine purchasing a Mantle for $5. I wish they would still have card shows today like they did back in the late 80's - early 90's when it seemed like everyone was into cards. Fun times.

If mantle cards were selling for 5.00 in the 1980s and now 300.00+ in 2013. Then I would think those numbers say people are very interested in cards today.

  • Thanks Digicat. For some reason, Photobucket wasn't letting me copy the IMG Link. I just went back after I saw you did it and now it decided to work for me as well.

  • Nice Card!
Early cert number may be a candidate for a bump to 8.5?
  • Super card.
  • thats a great looking Mantle!

could it bump to 8.5? centering from the scan looks good L/R. Might be a little low T/B but might be worth a shot.

Good work Foo, thats a really nice card. Actually, the 68 was the Mantle card that really stuck out in my mind from when I was a kid. Something about the colors and big red dot. So, a 68 was my first Mantle purchase too!! Enjoy that thing and DON'T get rid of it any time soon image

Beautiful card! I would try for the .5 bump

I did notice that as well but it’s not to the point that I thought it took away from the overall attractiveness of the card. Especially when I’ve been looking at other copies of 8's. Centering is so tough and noticeable on these 68's. Same goes for the 67's. Very tough cookies indeed. I still want to get a 64 in an 8 but that’s for another time when funds replenish and I’m ready for it.
