Wayne just got Revered by Mastronet on the 1965 Topps set...
Where have you gone Dave Vargha

    "Revered" is in reference to the Revere's Finest '68 Set which came out of no where to occupy the top spot on the 1968 registry.

    In this instance, Mastronet recently registered a set that took the top spot away from Wayne (a frequent visitor to these very boards).

    Three days ago Wayne sat atop the 65s with a 7.76. Today Mastronet holds the top with an 8.06. The Mastronet set has many qualifiers and mid-graded commons (4-6). It also has many 9s.

    In the future, many more of these killers sets are likely to be posted. Who will be Revered next?

    That sucks for Wayne. I don't like it when "outsiders" knock one of our own off of the top perch.

    You're probably right. That's a slap in the face to CU/Superior I think they should be given the boot right now even though they haven't actually done anything yet image.

    That's interesting. I sold two '65 cards to Louis Bollman of MastoNet through eBay recently. I wondered what that was about. He's a terrific guy. I've met him numerous times at shows over the past 6 or so years. I have a feeling that this is a set that will be put up for sale. So Wayne can recapture the #1 ranking by buying the set. image

    Hmmm. "Bring out your '65 Topps." just doesn't have that ring to it. Plus, it makes the "But I'm not dead yet" response meaningless. image
