It looks like printer's scrap to me! I know there are those who collect these types of things but I don't think I would have paid that kind of money for what essentially is scrap. To each their own right? That is why there are no rules in this hobby as to what one should collect.
I think the Gibson card is really cool. I had always wanted to get a card that had a completely different issue on the back. A few years ago, my hopes were realized when I got this Barry Bonds front / football back card.
happened when the printer was changing sets or just a practice sheet (printers scrap).... IMO, it wasnt issued in a pack of gum.... Ive never seen it (nonsport back) with a Topps card, but have with other sets. ie I once had a E92 Cy Young with a E79 Boxing back
also had this E92 Kleinow with a E26 Menagerie Gum back
He is possibly trying to show us in a non-chalant kind of way what he bought for $15.00 a while ago. He hasn't posted much since then, and now he posts this. Just a guess.
I have a few '78 Topps baseball with Mork & Mindy backs (I think Mork & Mindy cards are also from '78). Also have a few of the baseball/football cards.

<< <i>Good thing you did not get it Shane or you would need to do the corresponding Batman set too >>
Are you speaking from experience there, Al?

My guess is that you are correct.
