Help from any Bryce Harper collectors??

I'm a fan of this kid and would like to collect some of his cards. I'm in my 30s and haven't ever collected newer issues for the most part. I've done some eBay searching for decent lots of Harper. As is standard these days, there are about 100 variations, SPs, etc, etc, etc. I've tried to find a "player checklist" for him, but can't seem to find one. I don't have interest in any super rare variations, value or anything like that. I just want to collect card designs of his that I like.

Anyone have an online source or checklist of Harper's cards out there???

Thanks........

  • I have limited knowledge of his stuff save for the few cards I have sold off. But for the few years he has been out there, I would say there are around 100 cards to his name at the moment.

Perfect!! I didn't even think to look in Beckett's site. I don't ever go in there for anything.

    Thanks guys....

  • seems unnecessary. 1 year playing and he has 800 cards to his credit.

Depends on how much money you want to spend. The valuable cards will be the ones with low serial numbers and autographs.

Otherwise, take your pick of the rest.

<< <i>I am very critical of modern card issuance but it has definitely sunk to a new low IMO with all of these color variation refractors. I think that is beyond superfluous. Having said that, does Harper have a definitive "must have" rookie card yet that most collectors agree on? >>

Depends also on whether you want a prospect card or actual rookie (post debut)

Completely agree on the over-issuance. It's pretty much the reason I (and I'm sure most) stay away from modern issues. He would be a player that I would like to do a collection on, but I'm sure ain't gonna chase after hundreds of cards for a couple years of play. I'll just have to pick my favorites and stick with that. I know there are a lot of rumblings about too many subsets in modern issues, but I didn't really have a grasp on it until I started this venture.

  • Bryce and Trout are the two modern baseball guys i enjoy collecting. i am collecting them in BGS 9.5 form, with all subs of at least 9.5
its more of a challenge, and keeps my focus tight.

This is my favorite Bryce RC. i love the picture used.
(i picked this up before i tightened my sub-grade focus)

it is the SSP from 2012 Topps Flagship Series Two. i also recently picked up the 2012 Topps Mini Version as well (which is not an SP)
