1927 Canada Quarter- variety?

coinkatcoinkat Posts: 23,816 ✭✭✭✭✭
Okay-

In an effort to post something that I thought was usual, here we go-

I came across a 1927 Canadian Quarter- it looks to be a reasonable VF and not a bad example considering the date.

This is what we have;

On the reverse, the first A in CANADA has A that is sealed- the is no separation in the area above the crossbar. It is not wear as the coin is very attractive for the grade- has anyone seen this before? I can not imagine this is the first anyone has seen such a thing

    grease filled die seems possible- its just that there is no signs of grease elsewhere on the reverse

    Picture would definitely help, at the very least for educational purposes to those of us who wanna see what grease-filled dies look like.

    My pictures rarely look good and a close up of a filled A in CANADA is all we have- no other signs of a strike though or grease

    1927-1936 quarters have extremely convex reverses.Even in EF condition the first A in CANADA can be worn to the condition you describe.
