NCAA Hoops - March Madness 2013

Anybody watching the games live or at a sports bar? We are debating between going to see the opening games live in San Jose or go up to Reno to the sportsbook. Doing one or the other.... Anybody else?

    Estil-
I can assure you that we all know Kentucky will be back next year. Amazing how they recruit the big guns each year. AMAZING! When you look through the ESPN top 100 recruits a bunch of them are going to Kentucky next year. They just didn't quite gel this year.

In terms of watching the tourney you should watch the other teams. Watching some small school topple a big dog is always fun to me!

I know we did lose Noel but still there's 12 guys on a basketball roster and the other 11 (or so) guys should've stepped up. Then again, maybe our lackluster performance this season will help us keep more guys for next year and give us valuable experience to go with our "diaper dandies" (as Dickie V calls 'em) coming up for 2014. image

Okay guys, I admit I did have the second half of the Western Kentucky/Kansas game going on my computer when it looked like the 'Toppers had a realistic shot (Western, Murray State (who came closest to beating a #1 as a #16 in 1990; look it up) and such are okay, it's LOSERville I can't stand image ). Not only does another 15 seed make it but we have not one but TWO 16 seeds who while they couldn't quite finish the job, sure gave those top seeds all they could handle!

I know they were not a 16 seed but did anyone else see Florida Gulf Coast take care of Georgetown...couldn't believe how many dunks they had against a team that is know for defense......I actually watched most of that game even though my team was on CBS (Ohio State)....al.

You do know it was Georgetown who was the victim of the biggest upset in title game history...Villanova in 1985 beat them (the defending champs and lead by Patrick Ewing at the time) as an 8 seed (lowest ever for a national champ) with the help of missing only one field goal in the entire second half (and they still only beat them by two). And it just so happens it was the only time Rupp Arena got to host the Final Four. image
