WTB: Anyone have a FUGIO?

Hello Everyone! Thanks for looking.

Over the past three years, I have dived head first into the world of Copper. I've been scooping up as many Large Cents as I can.... LOVE them. I have also picked up a few Colonial's along the way. My personal favorite is a 1788 Mass One Cent (with period).

Anyhow, I'm just wondering if anyone has a FUGIO they would consider selling? I realize this is a long shot, but I'd love to know! The condition really isn't a big deal.... i realize that with my budget, a lower grade is probably what I'll end up buying.

If you have something, feel free to post it here, or PM me!

Thanks in advance!

RB1026 has a nice one on his website: Click for Fugio

Great guy to deal with; I've bought at least one coin from him.

  • Not sure what grade you are looking for. If you want a nice one, I might be able to let this go.

I am a collector and not a dealer, so you will not pay dealer prices.

    PM me if interested.

I would recommend one of our forum member/dealer sites.... Great person/company to deal with and great coins
The previous other half (both were great guys and still are) is now at

Harry Laibstain Rare Coins and nice colonials/eary coppers can be found there as well.

These 2 sites, and the guys that work/run them, are definitely my go-to when I want to see nice early copper or buy.

I've been told I tolerate fools poorly...that may explain things if I have a problem with you. Current ebay items - Nothing at the moment

  • Thanks for the replies everyone. So far, I've had a few responses both here in the forum, as well as in PM's.

The grade I'm looking for is probably going to have to be G or AG due to the prices..... I have loved a few of the pieces I've seen (VF - MS).... make me drool, but the bank account obviously limits my want... versus my needs!

In that case, definitely the possibility of picking one up on these boards. Word of caution: be very cognizant of buying a "problem" one.....when it comes time to sell, you may have a problem selling or really lose some money. Buy a nice one for the grade, no-problem, and when you go to sell it, you may be happily surprised.

If none of the ones jump out at you, ping John (the first link at CoinRaritiesOnline...CRO for short) or Dave (the HLRC link I gave) and tell them your price range and see if they can keep an eye out. They both really know their fugios (and others) and may be able to help you out as they attend the major shows.
