Like hunting for repunched letters? Here's a twist...

Not re-punching exactly, just some crude full-punches (is there a term for this??) Won't have to look very hard to see it!

It's funny that you can even make out the edges of the punch for the main design, not just the letters. All this combined with a somewhat mushy strike.. I wonder if the mint was using a softer metal than usual for the dies?

    Wow. Looks like somebody really smashed those letter punches in there! Must have been having a tough day at work.

    Too much caffeine? Too big a hammer?

    Then again, maybe it was indeed softer metal. Interesting.

    Looks like those anonymous threat letters the police receive - you know the ones that are blank white paper with cut-out letters of various font and colors from magazine clippings image
