For sale here first is an attractive, very original 1889 Proof Seated Liberty Dime, NGC PF 64 CAC. The coin is housed in a very scarce NGC 2.1 slab, the type right after the black slabs, with the gold writing on the inside of the slab.
The coin is deeply toned in shades of blue and purple. The fields mirror nicely when tilted under light, and there is slight cameo contrast. There is a clear dot at Liberty's feet where some clear substance (laquer?) long ago found its way onto the coin, preventing toning in that area.
