1977 Topps Mexican Football

I've been kicking around the idea of getting into this set or some key cards for a while. Do we have anybody on here that collects this set, if so please share your experiences.
This set occurs for me like Desert Shield does for baseball. A very hard to obtain odd ball set. The fact these were hand collated and packed in Mexico in two and four card packs just grows the legend to me. Packs coming with all the same cards sounds common.
Football experts how does the collecting community view this set relative to other Topps issues. Is it shunned or embraced?
thanks!

Don't you have like 2500 Largent RC's you could liquidate to make it happen, seem to recall your picture :-)

I agree with Scott, he was suppose to help me on my set and has never gotten back to me.
I will say his website is probably the most informative on the set. I use the price guide as a guidline on the values of the cards.
Good Luck!! If you get started and come up with duplicates, let me know!

I haven't dug through my set or dupes in next to forever. But I'll accept the heat. I'll be more than happy to help when I finally dig them out, but I haven't done anything with them in nearly 4 years... Sorry.
And here is the link to every Largent in the world except yours, btw better change your name lol

<< <i>I think there was a small find of wax boxes several years ago. If remember right they were found in Mexico. I think the find also included The 6 Million Dollar man along with the football. You could open a whole box and only get 10 different cards. The collation was horrible.
