Where to sell some older cards

First time poster here. Forgive me if this has been covered, probably many times before. I have a few older cards with fairly high grades plus a lot of low to midrange stars and commons, most of which I haven't had graded or authenticated yet. Having never sold on eBay before, I'm sure buyers wouldn't be as interested in dealing with me, plus I'm worried about being scammed. It seems that the best way to go would be to use a reputable auction house. Is there a good way to compare the various auction sites and pick them? Any insight greatly appreciated.

Alot of where to sell the cards will depend on the year and brand of the card!

In seriousness, eBay is a pretty safe place to sell. You just have to make sure to take the steps to cover yourself as a seller (signature confirmation and/or insurance on expensive sales). There is a Buy/Sell/Trade board on here, and everyone who participates in sales and trades seem to be stand-up, good people from what I've seen.
Another question: I have a Bronko nagurski national chicle as well which received a PSA 1 but I and a couple of local card shop guys thought it was underrated. Should I resubmit it? Sorry if this seems ridiculous; I'm really just not familiar with the process.
You have some great cards. How long ago was the Nagurski graded? If it was graded more than a few years ago, it is worth a try to resubmit. Especially if it was graded before they introduced half grades, you may have a shot.
If you are aware of the values of the cards and the amount you would like to get for them, you could list on eBay with a Buyitnow price, and not sell unless it is met.
Of course, you could also list it here with a sales price and some scans and you would likely get some strong offers.
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !
AWESOME
All these cards were my dad's, and he professes no emotional attachment to them. It is pretty cool though to have stuff that he collected as a kid. I will post some scans when I have a chance.
Good luck with whatever you decide.

The Tosi is a tough, tough card. I agree that a PSA 6.5 Tosi is at least $3000, possibly approaching $4000+ if it's a real stunner. There are a lot of fakes/reprints of the National Chicles, so even low grade cards are worth having graded for the bigs - HOFers plus any of the high numbers. It may be worth getting the Nagurski reviewed, if you could post a scan we'd be able to give you more opinions on that.
I agree with you that you may have a hard time selling your set on ebay if you are a new seller. Many new sellers on ebay selling the National Chicle fakes/reprints, so another new seller with a collection like yours would be suspicious to some people and could cost you some bidders. There are a couple of ebay consigners that members here use pretty regularly to sell items on ebay - Brent at PWCC Auctions and Rick Probstein (probstein123 on ebay). I have not used either, so I have no recommendation either way, but there have been many posts on the boards debating the topic.
Good luck and hope you are able to post some scans of your collection for us to see.
I've had Rick Probstein sell for me and was happy with his service and promptness in sending funds. I've not used PWCC but the gentleman has a fine reputation for his services as well. My perspective is PWCC is the place to sell high grade expensive cards. Probstein will sell your high grade cards as well as your mid and lower grade cards.

OK, please forgive a newbie's ignorance, but how do I attach the scans of my cards? I'm using a MacBook. Thanks.

COMC isn't the best for vintage cards. I'd say putting them on ebay with a BIN/BO would be your best bet, or maybe an auction house or in person at a show.
Sorry for being such a stranger to posting. I've been lurking, but haven't found much to add to existing discussions, so I've kept quiet. I do really enjoy learning from everyone here, as I am such a complete noob in the hobby.
I did have a question about the Nagurski I posted about a few months ago, and thought that rather than open a new thread, I would just ask on this one. PSA graded it a 1, probably due to a couple of creases in it, but the card looks like may be in better shape than poor (although again, as a total amateur, I may be totally naive on this). Does it make sense to resubmit it to PSA, and try and get a higher grade? I guess I'm asking based on whether you guys think it could grade better, and also whether getting a slightly higher grade would increase its value.
Thanks so much, and sorry if this is just a stupid question.

If so, it would probably still get a 1 at SGC.
Still, it is a nice looking card!

As for the pinhole, that's a very interesting possibility. I don't remember looking for that when it was raw, and it's really hard to tell in its slab if it's a hole or just a spot like on the left arm. It does correspond exactly to the splotch on the back of the card though. I should probably get a loupe to look at it more closely; if it isn't a hole, I may break it out and resubmit it. Regardless, I need to send in a few more of the '35 Chicles that are in decent shape.
Edited to add:
So I looked at the card really closely at 10X magnification, and it's really hard to see that spot as a whole. Under magnification, it looks like the world's smallest cigarette burn, though. So I'm still not sure whether to crack it. Decisions, decisions....

Best of luck!
<< <i>Well, after studying my Nagurski card very closely with a 10x loupe, it doesn't look like the spot on the arm is a pinhole, but it's really hard to tell without cracking it out. Maybe I'm naive, but I'm going to crack it out and resubmit it and go for a higher grade- I think the card looks at least as good as the 2 that just went up on ebay (link below), especially given its centering. Wish me luck!

Honestly for a card of that value I would submit it a couple more times before giving up.
