What is the value of t206 Chance SGC labeled ghost image?

I have had this card for several years and have wanted to get it labeled as a ghost image. The card is a yellow portrait with two very clear images of Chance on each side of the middle picture. I have sent it into PSA and it came back graded but not as a ghost image. I called about it and did not get an answer. I called SGC and they said if they deemed it truly a ghost image and not altered in any way, they would grade it for $75 as a ghost image. I asked about the grading price and they said the value of the ghost image warrents the price. I got the grade today and it is a SGC 30 ghost image. The card is crease free. I thought it would grade a sgc 50 - 4. Any ideas of the value of the card? Thank you, trapperlad.

I would pose the question on the net54 boards as there are many users knowledgeable in the t206s.

That's a fairly high grading charge for a ghost image. T206 printer scrap are worth much more. If you go to Goodwin's auction website (Link, you can search for T206 Ghost and get some examples of what some past ghost images sold for. Obviously some of it will depend on the card back, and that Chance was a Hall of Famer compared to some of the other players on that list. As others have said, there are many T206 collectors on net54, so they'd be able to give the best estimates.
  • There are probably too many threads about T206 on Net54baseball but I doubt one more would hurt. As for a ghost image value, no one will be able to give a good guess on value, here or otherwise, without seeing the image. The more "ghosty" it is the more valuable it will be. The more it looks weird, generally speaking, the more valuable it is. Something like this would be quite valuable...

Thanks for the info. I will post a scan when I get the card back. The 2 Chance images are pretty clear. One one each side of the middle original. It is all on the front of the card.
