1968 Nolan Ryan auction

Is this a legit auction? If so with the title and low fb the seller is probably missing out on a couple k's.

The description looks like he took most of it from PWCC.

I asked him if he would add another scan of the front and back WITHOUT enhancing the brightness. Let's see if he responds.

Liquidating my collection for the 3rd and final time. Time for others to enjoy what I have enjoyed over the last several decades. Money could be put to better use.
  • Legit or not I think you'll see it bring a pretty high price (still plenty of time left in that auction).

I'm not saying it is for sure but the card itself sure looks pretty sharp and legit....
I'm a big Nolan Ryan fan OK???!!!

This posting probably brought some attention to the auction as well.
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

Yes, it's kind of a bummer to be aggressively chasing a card on eBay and see it show up here, but what can you do

    Pretty far from "dead centered".

For those wondering if the seller actually has the card, I asked him to send me a couple of pictures where the brightness was not enhanced. Here is what I received:

Agreed...Milton Bradley variation. Crack and resub for the proper flip......

then we can say it is NOT Milton Bradley.....makes for a good read.

This card has 9 days to go. Anyone in the market for a Nolan Ryan rookie would have had time to find it.

The notion that that secret was blown because it showed up on these boards is comical.

The new photos have to be photoshopped because those are my counter tops.
  • BTW can anyone educate me on what a Milton Bradley variation is, I assume less desireable, how was it issued etc.....and you can only tell from what I've read based on the colour of the back? Odd.

Something is off about the case..looks frosty...besides sure have been a lot of mb PSA9 Ryans floating around...hardly ever see those
  • Not for nothing, but the seller has 6 feedback in the last year and shows up with a PSA 9 Ryan rookie and a BVG 9 OPC Gretzky rookie.
  • Hey Fellas,

I'm the owner of the Ryan and Gretzky. I have been collecting cards for years and purchased this Ryan 3 years ago from a well known ebay seller. Normally I sell all my stuff on consignment, but saw Brent at PWCC had a Ryan up so I threw mine two cards up because I figured I would get some good visibility with the other Ryan going so any other cards I would list would be getting views as well. Going to be listings some mantle, jordan, and other cards in a few days. Bid with confidence the cards are legit in every aspect. I know you guys all look out for each other on the forums and an interested seller pointed out the post to me. What exactly do you guys mean by Milton Bradley..ive never heard that term in reference to a card before. Please email me on ebay with any questions or concerns you have.

    Thanks guys and gals.

Please attach picture with a black background.
  • Will do...i just tried and it was over the MB limit on the site. I have to resize the pic and will get one up.
  • Also do you guys think its a Milton Bradley? If it is how much more would it be worth? I'm not opposed to resubmitting it. Does PSA mark the milton bradley variation or only BVG? Sucks because its been a while since I listed and EBAY has a new policy if you end or pull a listing you still pay a certain percentage of what the price is at the time. I would appreciate any feedback on this.

    Thanks.

They do grade the Milton Bradley version as you see, and I believe they carry a higher premium compared to the regular version. Good Luck with you Ryan, it's a little out of my ballpark.

  • Thanks big red.
  • Thanks for those that contacted me. I'm going to resubmit to PSA for Milton Bradley marker.
  • This might help.
