Well here are a few of my old world coins that i have

1744 Netherlands duit



1857 China 10 Cash coin



1831 Portugal 40 reis



Roman coin dated 70 A.D



1883 Spanish/Philippine 20 centavos

Nice Duit , the earlier ones , also had the motto around the lion in the waves = LUCTOR ET EMERGO ( I struggle and keep afloat)
minted in the town of Middelburg province of Zeeland, not for the Netherlands , but for the VOC = United East Indies Company
a dutch company (state) within the state of the United Netherlands , they had their own army , their own coins , their own fleet , their own justice system and their own government.

thanks yeah they may not be top of the line coins but it's the history behind them i like

I cannot make out the legend, but the Roman coin looks like it is from the reign of Hadrian, about 50 years post 70 AD.

Silverpop, what is your primary focus in your collection? Do you collect anything which catches your eye or do you have an area that you really are trying to finish?

Whatever coin or note that gets my notice gets collected

as for the roman coin the paper in the soft plastic slip said 70 A.D so i just go by what is known of the coin
