New Guy

Hello all.
I wasn't sure how you guys do things around here or even if a proper introduction was necessary. But, after reading the posts for a couple of weeks, I realized this is a small group of close people and an introduction would be the polite thing to do. Plus, if you don't care about the new guy, you don't have to read about the new guy. Well, let's see. I've just returned to collecting from a short 27 year break. Picked it back up again due to the kids finally becoming of age and wanting to start the hobby. I mainly collect what most people on here call junk cards, 1980-86 Topps football/baseball. I collect to complete the set or team more so than for monetary value. Compared to most people on here, I'm a very minor player. I certainly don't have access to funds that the people in "Want the card, take the card" thread have. Anyhow, I hope to get some good advice on here and possible help someone complete their set needs. Oh, and I never realized how big of a deal BBCE was until I came on here, since it's not too far from the house. Thanks everyone and I hope I don't offend anyone on here.

Lots of great people of this board with a wealth of experience to share. No one is a "very minor player". We all love talking cards and that is all that matters.
Glad you live close to BBCE as they can set you up with plenty of 80's material to enjoy with your kids. Guys around here love ripping packs and posting the results although I'm totally against it. If they lasted this long, they might as well stay unopened.
Looking forward to your future posts.
Happy Collecting!!!

I joined in summer after trolling for a month or so and I've learned a lot in a very short amount of time. From my experience everyone here is very helpful and nobody comes off as pretentious.
I think you'll enjoy yourself as much as I have!
Don't waste your time and fees listing on ebay before getting in touch me by PM or at gregmo32@aol.com !

Oh oh, it looks like the unopened guys found themselves a get-away driver.

Didn't see a name in your post.
As my buddy Mike said - we are all uniquely different "and" similar in that we are all collectors and rather passionate about what we set out to find.
Good luck with your sets and I'm looking forward to you posting on what you're picking up.
Don't be a stranger.
Couldn't agree more.
