Did a 1913 V Nickel just sell?
In my daily PCGS report e-mail I saw that it looked like an AU graded 1913 V Nickel just sold. Does anyone have more information on this? I'd love to get a high resolution image file of this coin!

to my knowledge all 1913 Liberty Head Nickels are proof
the only circulated one is in a museum
maybe it is counterfeit pcgs email where counterfeiters discuss big-time fakes they've sold?
.
you may desire to read the article again. not possible that the circulated example was sold unless it was absconded from the ana museum, which is not beyond probability but it is beyond probable that it sold and was made public (recently).
the only exception is that the nickel was simply on loan to the museum and the owners/heirs took it back to sell it which i highly doubt. it may have been donated flat-out, i'm not sure
the other 4 (known) are pf66, pf64, pf63, ungraded (smithsonian)
maybe the walton specimen is pf55 and is coming up for sale (far as i know). it is raw to my knowledge unless graded recently and does not reside in a museum (far as i know)
that is my information as of jan this year and is subject to change day-by-day

1) The McDermott-Bebee 1913, which is owned by the ANA, has been on display at quite a few ANA Conventions.
2) The Walton 1913 was in the physical possession of the ANA for more than eight years. It is now in the physical possession of Heritage and will be auctioned in April. It was on display at the FUN Convention in Orlando and probably at Long Beach in Feb. as well.
