Ever play auction chicken?

Basically, you put in a bid on something that you want at a price that may or may not be too high and see what happens. Or it could be an item you that you only sorta want and you low ball it. If you win, you got a bargain.
I've done this a number of times. I've won a few items at prices that I may not have wanted to pay, but now they make a nice part of my collection. I've also gotten some really nice deals. It all works out in the end and is kinda fun. Be careful when playing while drunk. Booze and eBay don't always mix well. HA!
Well, I did it again. If my most recent bid wins, I'll be happy and sad at the same time. It's a higher end item but one that I need (yeah right...need!). My logic is that I passed on going to the casino this weekend and the money that I was going to gamble with, I bid on this item.

I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

Once in a while I get a bargain but it seems like I'm often at the top end of the price range.
