Has anyone ever paid for cards using blujay and google wallet?

inspired by some of the recent box breaks I have witnessed lately, I took the plunge and bought some unopened modern wax. The seller was on blujay and had me pay using google wallet. I have never paid that method before, and now the seller looks like his store has shut down. Has anyone had good luck/bad luck using that sort of payment? Any experiences would be helpful.....

    ??
  • Bobby,

Back a few years ago, during one of the times that I was mad at PayPal, I was going to sell on a website. I signed up for GoogleWallet as a seller. I did some research first & remember they seemed to be pretty straight up. But I never sold any items using them, so unfortunately, I don't have much info for you. But I would think you should be as protected as PayPal, good luck, hope it ends well.
  • Here's a heads up on a seller called Sierramist on Blujay.....He goes by Jim on the invoice....I tried buying a box of 2012 Chrome Football. Long Story short I filed a claim on PayPal trying to get my money back because I never got my purchase.

Thank you Brandon. You hit the nail right on the head. That is the seller I purchased from as well. Apparently he has a history of collecting money and not delivering product. His site appears to have been shut down and his number is no good.
  • Yeah, he told me my cards would get there the following tuesday. I thought that was awesome!! Tuesday came nothing...I waited till the next friday to say something over the invoice. He said that his father was in the hospital. Ok, I gave him the benefit of the doubt and waited longer. He couldn't give me a tracking number and told me that he sent it USPS. After I sent him a message a little peed off about still not having my cards he stopped messaging me. I should have known something was fishy because the only way to contact him was through the blujay invoice. I tried emailing the store he owns, but nothing. I should have known because 75 dollars for a hobby box was too good of a price, but I thought I was getting a steal.

I have never used google wallet before. "Jim" said that he hated PayPal and won't used them because they are holding $7,000+ of his 'friends' money and won't release it. I am betting that his 'friend' is actually himself. Looks like he collected money and didn't deliver product on PayPal, and now is attempting to do the same on Google Wallet. Pretty soon, he is going to run out of bridges to burn.

Brandon...can I ask if you were able to recoup your money paid to the scam artist?
  • Bobby,
I filed the complaint about a week ago? They say PayPal complaints can take up to 30 days to review. I should win because the guys isn't even trying to state his side of the story. I saw you PM me but the internet on campus is a little screwy and I wasn't able to answer it. I have never used Google wallet either, but I could imagine that it is mostly the same. I can keep you updated.

I accept payment by Google Wallet through my online eCrater store, and I know it offers my customers protection should I not live up to my end of the bargain. Though I don't know exactly what protection, it's similar to PayPal I believe.
