What product "Premiums" did you get as a kid?

I saw this original artwork for Bazooka Joe years ago - picked it up mainly because it reminded me of a Bazooka knife I picked up when I was 10.

The minute I saw it in the Bazooka wrapper - I HAD to have it! I dreamt about it - fantasized - I was Davy Crockett, Daniel Boon, Jim Bowie...

I saved what seemed like a zillion wrappers - mailed it into Bazooka and got a cool pocket knife back - compliments of the mailman!

The knife is long gone - but I was able to pick up a similar "Bazooka" on ebay - I believe this is the one that was given away in their 1958 contest:

I have to confess - I was a sucker for all those comic book "ads" and bought just about everything that never quite worked.image

Since that stuff is not sports related - and Bazooka is related to Topps - I'm in the ballpark I guess?

Here's the 58T Bazooka contest card:

Hey Mike, does that include the x-ray glasses and the sea monkeys?

My brother got the x-ray glasses and it was basically a feather or something like that simulating bones in the lenses. Funny

I used to wonder about those glasses.

Mike- I saved my 30k post for you.

    Great thread as usual.

    This is a great thread.
First off, I remember that Bazooka Joe Polka Dot paint comic from when opened some gum!
Secondly, I still have that pocket knife in you scan. I just found it and gave it to my son. I had no idea it was from Bazooka...................
Oh, and the sea monkeys if I remember were brine shrimp? Last summer my brother found an unopened pack of those sea monkeys in the original package at a garage sale for 50 cents and sold it on ebay for about $26.00. Nice thread!
