What kind of 2012 football wax should I buy? Need your opinion...

Morning,

I am looking to buy some 2012 football wax, but have been out of the game a long time when it comes to newer stuff? In your opinion, any ideas of what company/certain packs I should go with?

Thanks a lot for any assistance, and happy Sunday to you!

  • Great, thanks for the input! Any cards within the Chrome I should be looking for?
  • I'm partial to Contenders and was debating a case of it or Topps Chrome. Chrome sure is a blast to break however was thinking to hold. Contenders autos seem to be the desired card looking back the past two decades.

I really liked Topps Chrome, so I would suggest that. I have also heard GREAT things about Prism....but I have never opened any.

  • Wow,

I've spent the morning an afternoon researching a lot of these Luck Auto Rookies going for extreme amounts on eBay. (As I write this, one is at $15,500, with 3 days left....)

I am a bit torn on how I feel about these prices.....a bit old school I guess, but at these prices, that's a serious "risk" trade considering he does not have the numbers established yet in the NFL. I am not sure who, or even why, someone would pay those prices at this point. I trade stocks and currencies, and go into every trade with a risk/reward ratio. Paying $20k+ for anything, even 1 of 1, at this point when they can go to nothin on a "Theisman" knee breaking injury???? No thanks. I love the excitement, but these prices are NUTS (As Jim Cramer might say..lol!!)

However, I sure as heck wanna buy some wax from this last year.....a great rookie bunch!

p.s. If anyone can elaborate on the, "economics" of these outrageous prices, by all means reply to thread! Thanks again all for the wax buying opinions...
  • its as simple as Supply & Demand

I come across items all the time that I wouldn't pay anywhere close to what they sell for, but as long as someone else does that is what it will continue to sell for.
  • Hmmmm????

I don't believe it is as simple as supply and demand? He does not have the established numbers yet, therefore it comes down to "projected" numbers.

Supply and demand? Because it's 1/1, that makes it worthy of a $20k price tag? Interesting, very interesting?

For those prices, you can get a quality PSA 52 Mantle and 86 Jordan......(and probably a decent jet ski to enjoy the Summerimage

With that in mind, what in the hell has happened with these inserts?!
  • Are these the same product, just different box cover?

    Example 1

    Example 2
