Autograph Insert Card Slabbing Question
![MrSnuffleupagus](https://forums.collectors.com/applications/dashboard/design/images/banned.png)
Mr. Snuffleupagus collects vinatage cards but also has many modern autographed insert cards. Mr. Snuffleupagus is confused about all the different ways that autographed insert cards can be slabbed by PSA and wants to send them all in for encapsulation. Can someone explain all the options to Mr. Snuffleupagus?

Card Company issued autos issued in 1998 and after can be sent in just like any regular unsigned card. Cards that came out before 1998 have to be sent in for PSA/DNA verification of the auto before they slab the card. So for example the 1991 Donruss Elite Ryne Sandberg auto'd card has be sent in for PSA/DNA which is i think $25 now. If however, you have say a 1998 SP Authentic Chirography card it goes in like any regular card.
Either way the only grade that you get is the grade on the card. What that means from what I can tell is that you can not use the cards in the PSA/DNA registry, as PSA/DNA registry requires auto grades. PSA wont grade both the card and the auto, like Beckett does (one of the few things that I like about Beckett).
Hope this helps you out.

The autograph cards are post 1998. They are mostly hi end Topps insert cards of hall of famers. Zero desire to have the 'cards' graded. Would like the 'autos' graded if they will do it. Main reason for doing this is to get them encased in plastic PSA tombs for protection so they can be held and enjoyed. What are the PSA options available to Mr. Snuffleupagus?
Mr. Snuffleupagus says Thank You!
Oh and to Mike.... Mr. Snuffleupagus likes his chicken spicy too !

well if you want the auto's graded you will have to go through PSA/DNA for that. only the auto's will be graded and not the cards. however you are more likely to pay a bit more for the slabbing that way. PSA/DNA charges are based on the player. they have a pull down list on the website that will tell you the charge for each one. however, just getting the card slabbed through PSA will get you the same level protection. since they are modern cards the condition of the card will more than likely drive the future value not the autograph grade.

<< <i>Is this an option? Submit with a minimum auto grade of 9-mint and if its not mint just slab it authentic? >>
As long as you enclose specific instructions with your submission and pay the authentication AND grading fee, then they should take care of your request. If it doesn't meet your requirement of a 9 you will still pay the grading fee as well

Mr. Snuffleupagus will have to ask Jimmy

Mr. Snuffleupagus will just get his autographs slabbed as authentic. Thanks Mike.

Yes they can do this just as you describe above. The downside of course is that it costs a bit more and it makes your cards less valuable. The red flip graded autograph card is of course going to be significantly more desirable than an authentic or graded autograph if you ever think you might sell the cards.
Good luck
