I was so psyched I also posted this in the registry forum so sorry if you already saw this.
This is whats up:
My dad gave me a 3 ring binder chock full of 1969 Topps tall boy basketball cards, 100 total. I would attach an image but i don't think I can.
I was so fired up about these things me and my new 5 month old baby boy were skipping around the house singing songs about PSA 9 graded cards. My wife thinks I'm crazy.
Next move, I jump on EBAY and scored a bag of card saver III's. 3 days later I'm waiting on the front porch for the mailman.
I have been stuffing these dudes in and they are in very good shape. They look to be about 7 to 8 in grade, possible 9's but the centering isn't that great on many of them. Pretty upset about that.
I'de say the Wilt is a 6 and Lew is a 5-6.
What do you dudes think...... spend $650 to get these things graded under the Feb $6.50 special? I think its about a 75% full set and with a little work it might snap me in the top 20 registry.
I think some might come back 9 so even if I get one 9 its probably worth it.
There are a bunch of doubles and triples so I could trade with people who have sets and need cards. The checklist is completely tuned up with red x's so I'll be lining my hampster cage with that thing.
Pretty sweet that my dad has all the Mickey Mantle cards too (except the rookies, obviously) and stamped his name on the 53 topps and 55 bowman.
Nice job dad.

How do you attach an image? Can't seem to figure it out.
I'll get some good scans up tonight
Highly rec u scanning cards for opinions.
U mentioned top 20 of tghis set. well go to the registry and look up ths popular set. top 20 requires an avg grade of 7.42
Nearly all of the top 40 are at or very close to 100% completion at about abg grade of 6.56
Now the checklist is the hardest by far. an psa 8 runs about $3000 7 about $500
and weighted at 9.0 (alcindor is highets at 10) it would bring he avg grade down considerably if you do not have at least an 7.
I have probably 20 rc of hof'ers in this set in psa 7 that are not even worth listing on ebay. God forbid you get a 7 on a common.....
