What do you submit to BGS?

Just curious on what ground rules you have with yourself for what goes to BGS over PSA. I used to say prior to 1990 went to PSA, 1990+ to BGS. No longer, now I look closely at each card and use more of judgement in my mind using the following:

1. Could it get a PSA 10 regardless of era, then it goes to PSA. I still would rather have a card as a PSA 10 over a BGS 9.5. It's cheating to say a BGS 9.5 = PSA 10.
2. If I see the card has a minor flaw ruling out any chance at a PSA 10, I submit to BGS hoping for a 9.5 figuring a BGS 9.5 is much better then a PSA 9 if I'm selling.

However now I start seeing the power of the PSA set registry and may simply send all to PSA.

What are you own rules for submission?

I've switched to PSA for everything. Seems to be more demand for it.

I do not submit to them.
PSA and PSA/DNA gets all my business.

I should clarify anything pre 1990 I would not consider sending to BGS. Only having the debate internally about modern stuff.

Is PSA 10 the same as BGS 10 on modern cards? Most people would say no. Thoughts?

No BGS 10 is pristine and considered flawless.

Generally BGS 9.5 Gem Mint is thought to be equal to PSA 10, however its not that simple and you need to see the subs of the particular 9.5 and judge for yourself.

I still find it more difficult to convince a buyer my BGS 9.5 is just as good as a PSA 10

I send everything to Bgs and Bvg. Nothing against Psa just prefer Bgs.
I personally don't feel a psa 10 is any better then a Bgs 9.5, I've seen some sheisty looking Psa 10's (and own a few), just the same I've seen some crappy Bgs 9.5's (and own a few).
Also, I think the Bgs 10 is complete b.s. and is no different then a 9.5. It was a great marketing strategy though!

I send star basketball and any other sets that psa doesn't grade yet. I also really like that bgs slabs schedules. I subbed a few college basketball schedules that look just like cards once they were slabbed. Since psa doesn't grade the star cards I get most of my basketball cards slabbed by bgs just so all the slabs match.

I never have subbed anything to BGS. If I ever did, it would only be the newer oddball insert
stuff like thick patch, game used, chunk o bat, piece of jersey, yada,yada,yada stuff like that.
But I dont collect that stuff so probably will never send anything their way.
