1999 Silver State quarter roll observation: Comments requested
Has anyone noticed the roll bid price of the 1999 silver state quarters? They are bid at $1,050 per roll. With the set price bid at $100 each, one could theoretically buy 40 sets for $4,000 break them up and sell just the quarter rolls for $5,250. That’s not to mention the silver halves, dimes or the non silver coins. Is the market really that strong for 1999 silver quarters? From what I can determine, they seem to go for about a 1/3 of that. Is this just a grey sheet price anomaly or am I missing something?
Looking at the subsequent years, they list by roll at a small premium to the silver value—what one would expect, or at least what I would expect.
