GAI box grading standards

Does anyone know the criteria GAI uses for grading a full box of unopened cards ? The most important thing to me, would be to make sure it was indeed authentic and unopened, and if it were an original box and not pieced together. After that, I really don't know how they interpret the grade the box will get. Is it the condition of the packs inside, or the box itself ? I started wondering after seeing this box up for auction.

It is graded an 8, but the box itself really looks beat up to me. Any help you guys can provide would be much appreciated, as I'm seriously thinking of bidding on the box. (having something sealed up like that will tame my desire to rip it !) Also, if any of you have found questionable product authenticated by GAI that would be helpful info as well.

However without the "from a sealed case" designation there is no way to know if it is an original box or pieced together. As someone mentioned in another thread packs from a single, original box tend to be wrapped similarly but that is not definitive. I have opened boxes from cases where many of the packs were wrapped differently. Basically you are SOL on the original vs pieced together unless the submitter sent in a full case.
