  • Nice article. A telling change between then and "modern" baseball:
    She (Johnson's daughter, now 90) said one of her most vivid memories was ''being impatient about getting into the stadium because everybody wanted his autograph, and he never turned anybody away.''

    Hank Thomas, Johnson's grandson is a member of the Net54 boards and it is interesting to read some of his thoughts on his Grandfather.
    I am on a budget and I am not afraid to use it!!

    Hank also wrote a book about his grandfather "Walter Johnson Baseball's Big Train"
