7070...Not Complete

jayPemjayPem Posts: 4,097 ✭✭✭✭✭
There has been a great run of 7070 threads it seems...here's a little bit of mine.
It's sort of an oddities set...CC's, chop marks, counterstamps, engraved pieces, and of course a racketeer nickel, with slicks as hole fillers until the right pieces pop up !

I'd like to downgrade both the Morgan and no motto Seated $ !

I like the two contemporary Capped Bust 50C the best! Cool set.

    Very cool.

After the sale of my love token collection, I thought hard about doing a 7070-style type set of love tokens and counterstamped or engraved pieces. Much as you're doing here with an "odd and unusual" theme. I like the idea! image

In fact, I might take that up later, but for the next year or two or three, I thought I'd move back (a little) towards the mainstream and just do the VF-XF 7070-style 19th century set you've seen me doing.

I detect some nice CircCammy crustiness in your set, there!

The counterstamp on the 1861 half is interesting. I take it the CBH's are contemporary counterfeits?

Funny, that Peace dollar kinda jumped out at me, too. And I want a Morgan with the same look as yours, but maybe a tad bit higher grade.

Groovy set, and I'll bet for the most part an affordable one, too. I'm all about the affordable grooviness!

The 1861 half is chopmarked...and the busties are both old counterfits. The slick Trade $ is from last years paperclip swap !

Oh yeah! I remember that coin, now! It was one of two Trade $ in Operation Paperclip 2012, if I remember correctly.

(Speakin' of which, Operation Paperclip 2013 could use a boost- we're still down in the cheapos- nothing quite that interesting... yet!)

Great matched set! I love the look of circulated silver.
