What's the longest you've waited for a ttm?
![lawnmowerman](https://us.v-cdn.net/6027503/uploads/authoricons/esmith22.jpg)
I just received a ttm I sent out 1/21/10. It arrived last Wednesday. 1119 Days later.
The player is Chris Dishman of the Houston Oilers. I guess he felt bad because he sent me an additional signed card as well lol Nice guy!

I had a massive collection at one time, but I had to sell them off. I put a nice down payment on my wife's first car.

I guess some guys are extremely busy or possibly had a change of heart when it comes to signing.
Either way, it's nice of them to hold onto the cards for so long instead of taking the easy route and tossing them in the trash.

Longest is Jacoby Ellsbury - 3 years. Did not send back my card, but sent other items, including a small plastic container with "Fenway Dirt".
Sparky Anderson took 2 years.
Paul Molitor - Interesting - took 2.5 years for him to write a note saying he is too busy to sign my card.
Ernie Banks - 2.5 years and he returned my '69 card with a STAMPED signature.
Bennie McRae - '69 football - 2.5 years and sent the card back unsigned.
Michael Cooper - '86 Fleer basketball - 2 years.
NINE MORE DAYS and I will be landing at Tampa Airport for a nice 5 day stay! MAKE SURE THE WEATHER IS NICE!

I have never sent a ttm, so I have been waiting 36 years!
Am I the winner?
Did Molitor happen to sign the note he sent ya?

sent to Hank Aaron in 1979
got it back in 1983
<< <i>Interesting Doug! Pretty cool of Ellsbury to do that.

Here is what he sent me. The dates to the right and the printed "Paul Molitor" are in my handwriting. The letter was a copy.
Matt ... here was what I got from Ellsbury:
Sent February 22, 2010 c/o the Red Sox Spring Training Facility. 1,047 days later I get the following.
The two cards I sent to him were returned UNSIGNED.
Inside this 10 x 7 envelope:
Were the following:
A postcard "signed" by Jacoby. Based upon what I found on eBay, this is NOT his signature.
A pocket schedule, with the 2nd half of the season on the reverse.
This sticker of the Red Sox Logo:
And this, which I think is pretty kewl:
Maybe down the road I will put a display together with the Red Sox Dirt and
the dirt from the previous Yankee Stadium that I have:

Red Sox and Yankees stuff in the same display??
The encounter could create a time paradox, the result of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space-time continuum and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that's a worst-case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy.

<< <i>For me its about 7 years. Redskins OL Chris Samuels. I sent it in 2000 during his rookie year. The SASE address was my college mailbox. When it arrived in 2007, the school must have went through there records because they had it forwarded to my parents house, which would have been my official residence at that time. >>
Similar story.
Purchased a pack of 1995 Donruss at my college bookstore. I used my mom's address as the return address.
I moved back home to finish school closer to home in 1997. I moved to my own apartment in 2000. In 2001, my mom called to tell me that I had an envelope that looked like my handwriting and had my name as the return address. She told me it was postmarked from Arizona.
Alan Trammell had finally sent my 1995 Donruss back to me, signed.
Only an idiot would have a message board signature.
In May of 2011, I received a message from my mother about a TTM I received back that I had sent as a teenager.
Hi Marc,
I know you will get a charge out of this as much as I did. Just went out to get the mail and there was an envelope addressed to you (your handwriting) with a stamp on it. The stamp was a 29 cent stamp. Took the pleasure of opening this - two autographed baseball cards from Kevin Reimer - played for the Rangers. How funny is this that he had these for so long and the post office didn't even catch the insufficient postage!!!!! I have a feeling that Kevin has no life now - why else would he have these all this time? He is probably hoping that someone remembers him.

Sent from my iPad
So -- I had to look up who Kevin Reimer even was. I certainly did not remember him! http://www.baseball-reference.com/players/r/reimeke01.shtml And checking on the USPS site, the Postal Service switched to 29 cent stamps in 1991 and hiked the rate to 32 in 1995. I imagine that I sent this closer to 1991, just remembering where I was with life at the time.
But this certainly is my longest wait ever for a TTM signature. And, unlike my mother's condescending note, I imagine that my request was simply lost or misplaced. I tend to (naively?) believe that most ex-ballplayers either don't respond to requests at all, or simply love being remembered. Kevin hasn't played in MLB for 18 years, so I imagine this probably just got misplaced in the grand scheme of things.
Thought some of y'all might appreciate the story.

I believe Rickey signed it to Rickey and mailed it to himself.
