I checked the pop report and there are 15 of these and one 8.5, one 9 OC, and one 9.

This is a canidate to be in the SMR advertisements of turning your cardboard into gold.

  • That lone 9 would be a fun one to watch. $15,000 - $20,000????
  • To top it off, looks like a slider 8 to me.
From what I can tell, 707 is the DOLLAR STORE compared to deans_cards. For what that guy charges, if I ever bought anything from him I would expect it to be delivered to me in a frickin' limo.

  • That has to be one of the worst purchases I have ever seen.
I'm building a 1968 and a 1970 Topps set. I have lots of 1970s and 1960s to offer in trade.

That's probably got to be a record. Such a huge jump from last sale. Gotta love two and a half years of pent up demand from the last time one sold on eBay. I wonder how many will come out of the woodwork now.

I once got a $5k return on a PSA 9 1971 Claude Raymond. That's gotta be close to a record for 70s commons. I wish '71 PSA 9s would see similar jumps as the Landrum. Most are single digit pops and some haven't sold on eBay for years. I'd be sitting on $100k worth of '71 common 9s easily if that were the case.
  • Is that card really a PSA 8???

If I were to submit that to PSA for grading, it would be a 6 all day, everyday.

just another probstein auction where the consignor (user s***l most likely) shill bid on the card. Nothing to see here, move along.

I don't sell much, and the stuff I do sell is mostly BIN. So your comment doesn't mean anything to me. But keep being Rick's lapdog, maybe one day you'll get a cut of his inflated sales!

A PSA 8.5 Bobby Orr Topps Test USA sold for $72,000+ by Mile High last year. Don't think that an 8 would go for much less than 50 or 60k.

Even if I had Warren Buffett money I don't think I would spend that much on a common.
I cannot hit curveball. Straightball I hit it very much. Curveball, bats are afraid.

When I read this thread, and went to the PSA Pop report, I expected there to be 1, maybe 5 at the most in PSA 8 or better. But there are 18??? $6500 for a common that has 18 in this grade? That is nuts

  • Can anyone explain to me why this card is a PSA 8?

I had posted previously in a joking way, but I really would like to hear comments (and not accusations) regarding the grade on the card. Not only did it sell for an outrageous sum, the grade appears way off. Is there something specific to this card that may be overlooked with respect to final grade??? Sorry, I just don't get it.

I don't own too many 1962 PSA 8's, but I will say that the few 9's that I have are far and away better than this card.

Sorry, I can't. Looks like a 7 at the very best.

stupid $$ lol Thats a $20 common card, and always should be....

PS there are raw cards from the 60's that sell for much more than $20,000

ie the 1961 Dice Game Mantle...
