I recently saw a movie on Netflix called "Fred and Vinny" where the guy is always with his binder of baseball cards. Mask and Rain Man stick out from my childhood the most.

Kevin Franklin: The entire 1994 baseball season, know what I'm saying? I got Ken Griffey Jr. here, Barry Bonds, Jose Canseco. People spend big money for baseball cards, but if they get hurt, it's even worth more money! Say one of them's going to the car after the game, gets hit - pow! I don't wanna see it happen, but if it does, I'm getting paid!
Skike Lee's character Jimmy.....

<< <i>I recently saw a movie called DIMINISHED CAPACITY (with Alan Alda and Mathew Broderick). Apparently the father has this old baseball card (never really said what it is, but it looks like a Tobacco style card). In the film they go to a card show, similar probably to the National where everyone that sees it remarks on how amazing the condition is. I laugh because what they went through, the card would not have survived its apparent mint condition some people were claiming it as. I would be curious what others on this forum thought about how the hobby is represented in this film. >>
They never said what year or brand, but it was a Frank "Wildfire" Schulte tobacco card "in mint condition"....that was supposed to be worth $800k.
This was the card Mikey pulled out of Chester Copperpot's wallet. The scavenger who carried a Lou Gehrig card in his wallet....and the man who was believed to have disappeared in 1935. Apparently Goudey reprints were a bit tough to come by in 1985/6.
