National in Chicago - Looking to meet some board members

Hey guys -

I know we're still several months out from the National in Chicago this year, but I've already made my travel plans and am counting down the days! Have been lucky enough to attend the last 5 shows and travel from the west coast to see the hobby I love continue to flourish. Usually this is a chance for me to bond with my dad, who I don't see nearly often enough, but this year he's headed to Europe with my mom at the same time as the show. Guess she's due after toughing it out for 41 years with the old man!

Anyway, I was thinking this would be a great chance to get a group together for a dinner and/or a ball game at Wrigley during National weekend. I don't post much on the boards, but am an avid reader here and would appreciate the opportunity to meet and get to know some of you!

I can set up reservations for dinners (Giordanos and Gibsons are both close to the convention center and really great eats) and organize a trip to the ballpark if anyone is interested.

Of course, am open to your thoughts and suggestions!

My 12 year old son Kyle and I are planning to go to the National this year. We have never been to a National, so we are very excited. We would probably love to join for dinner and a game. That would be awesome if you can help set this up.

Awesome Brian...look forward to meeting up in Chicago. I'll probably bump this post up to the top intermittently for the next few months and start getting rolling with some event planning in May. You and your son will have an amazing time at the show. I have cherished the memories with my dad at the national and am looking forward to bringing my own son someday!

Sounds good Pdub. I'll keep you posted via this thread. Feel free to let me know if there's a specific day your group would like to go to the game and we can start there. The Thursday game is in the evening @ 7:05. Friday is still a TBD time, and Saturday game starts at 3:05. They are playing the Dodgers. I may go to multiple games, so perhaps I'll try to organize a couple meet ups at Wrigley.
