Seems like I remember reading somewhere that Queen Victoria's profile was changed slightly on EIC Rupees to give her Asian facial features and therefore increase the acceptance of the coinage.....any truth to this??

Now that you mention it, she certainly does have an Asian look in that so-called "Indian Head". (Confusing term, considering how it has quite a few different meanings over on the Liteside.)

ok, i was able to find this thread on another forum......is it that the 'divided legend' (with W.W. on her neck) is the 'English' head while the two pictured here are the 'Asian' head??

Greg- is that piece really chromed, or is it just heavily polished?


I notice you're being coy about the reverse side, so I won't steal your thunder.

Suffice it to say, the two pieces you just got from me in our last swap will make nice little sisters to this piece, though. I like the ongoing theme.
