I havnt paid much attention to this thing but today I look at my hometown paper and saw an article about this on the front page, the guy who bought this card lives in my town.
Hauls of Shame is a great site with a ton of fantastic information. They were central to the exposing of Barry Halper and his famous collection as a fraud, the work of thieves.
However...
The guy who runs the site is also an admitted fraud. He also had a colorful life prior to his work in the memorabilia field as a rapper in the group 3rd Bass (he's the dude in the middle):
