Wonder if this trade dollar is fake or genuine , its non magnetic , good weight ? 27 Gram - diameter 39mm

My tell-tale sign is the 'graininess' of the surface and high areas of the coin.

The uneven/missing denticles are also the first thing I look for.

If you look at her flowing robe you can see the porosity. Deffinately cast. IMHO

The design around the edge is incomplete in areas where the denticles are relatively strong. Definitely a fake.

Here is one that I had for nearly 40 years before finally having it slabbed last year, an MS64+.

Fake.

Very weak and rounded devices/ not sharp and I see some depressions.

Plus the look/color screams fake

Plenty of real ones on line to compare the look.
