    I'm quite sure there are people that fill up their watch list so they enter nominal bids to be able to watch the item with no realistic chance to win it.

    Theres also dreamers that just dumpster dive and bid $1 or less on anything they want, and hope it goes the length of the auction with no one else bidding.
  • Probably a guy who bids the opening $.99 on every auction and is hoping by some miracle he wins.

    On another board, the guys were talking about an a**hole who has been bidding up the prices of Topps black parallels and not paying for them. Dude ends up winning tons, doesn't pay, gets NARU'ed, then comes back with a new ID and starts over. He's been at it for over 4 years apparently, focusing on the Topps black cards.

    Very good explanations BUT I left off one important thing. The item right now is in the $200's and this bidder has made about 4 or 5 bids, including one at the $200.00 level.
