Is Heritage regularly juicing its photos now?

That Washington quarter someone posted earlier from the same auction doesn't appear to be the only coin from this auction with juiced photos. I understand that sometimes you have to tilt the coin to get the color to show...but this is a bit ridiculous.

    .
they do this with a large portion of the coins to give 2 perspectives

i agree, sometimes just a nice accurate photo is all that is needed

i don't have complaints for this coin image being juiced, but it is for sure sub-par in quality, lacking crispness in a serious way and no large images available, or at least what i consider large image

Yeah, I noticed juiced images with several coins (I'm not posting a link cause I'm gonna BID on them!).

They show an image dead on, then an image rotated to show maximum color. I don't see how it is possible to call that "juicing" the image.

They have that grainy texture of an image that has had its contrast played with in an image editor, similar to what you see on eBay with the seller john-strategies.

The first two pix add nothing. The two in the slab are fine, but too small.
    I brake for ear bars.

Juicing an image in this case means over-saturating the color, not just tilting the coin. In the link above, the whole-slab shots use normal color saturation, while the close ups are "juiced" with the color saturation cranked up above normal for emphasis. There are other coins in this auction where even the full-slab shots are over saturated to the point of looking cartoonish.

It does seem like Heritage's pics have been better lately. I appreciate it! image

Unfortunately some collectors buy the pictures not the coins.

This has been going on at HA for many months. Just enlarge the slab image for a better perspective.

I've never found the photo's on Heritage to be a problem.
I feel that the "juiced" pictures are an attempt to represent the coin in it's best possible light and angle.
More importantly though, I think the other photo's, those showing the coin in a fully slabbed view are typically accurate for how you can expect the coin to look in hand.
When fully expanded all the way out, I have found the pictures provided to be reasonably adequate in allowing a buyer to judge the coin.
