Attempted Scammer - Good for a laugh

I was browsing through the Jackie Robinsons on eBay (PWCC has a nice run) and came across this winner image

1954 Jackie Robinson "PSA 5"

What's really funny (besides the missing PSA holder) is that on the back of the card it actually says Topps Archives!

  • Apparently the bottom line "Topps 1954 Archives" does not register as a reprint.

Not only that, he says its a "PSA 5", however has looks at least a 9, and has no qualms sticking a $100 card in a letter envelope. LOL

Just to give the seller the benefit of the DOUBT, I emailed asking why he graded the card a 5 when it looks so much nicer. Their response, "I didnt, it did it for me." Assuming "it" is Ebay, does anyone else get this kind of help from Ebay?

Wow. eBay is giving out PSA grades? And this is based on a slanted far away photo of a card on someones bed that they are making these grades?

I'd totally bid on it, but the back of the card clearly states that it's Rob's. Too bad.
  • When were these "Topps Archives" printed?

I asked the seller which of the 2 different cards he had pictured would i get if I win and his response was "the one with the blue background." I had to respond back with "Is the one with the blue background the Topps Archive card or the original 1954 card?" Lets see what he says.

His response was after I pointed out that he had a Topps Archive and an original 1954 card pictured was "terribly sorry, i will change it in a minute."

Maybe he was referring to the other voice in his head?
